Survey: What’s Your Workout Routine?

As annoying as it can be to change into gym clothes in the middle of your school day and hit the track/field/weight room with your gym class, having exercise built into your day for you is actually a blessing. It means that you don’t have to find a way to get it in there yourself! Now that summer is almost in session, you’ll likely be looking for ways to stay in shape and boost your energy levels on your own.

The great thing about exercise is that there are so many different things you can do, preventing you from ever getting bored of one particular activity. Hiking, swimming, dancing, walking, running, going to the gym and playing sports are all great ways to get your sweat on while keeping things interesting. And if you can find a workout buddy, all the better!

    i home school so i don’t really have class but i exercise everyday!

    walking my doc says thats better then running!

    i walk everyday between 3-6 miles!

    Sometimes my bros girlfriend if we are together

    im not sure…Zumba maybe?

    3. How do you plan to exercise this summer? Going to run with my friend.

    5. What is one form of working out that you’ve never tried, but would like to? Cardio! 🙂 Flexibility stuff.

    7. How often do you like to get out and be active? Not often at all!!!!!
    8. What’s something that you’ve learned from gym or health class that has helped you when you work out on your own? Stretch before. Stay hydrated. Know your limits.
    9. Do you play any sports, either with friends, for school or locally? Not anymore but want to be involved with soccer…used to play.
    10. Do you have any fitness goals for the summer? Run more. Gain stamina and flexibility.

    1: Dodgeball, walking, softball

    2: SKATINGGGGGG.

    3: I go for two walks each day. Both are an hour long. (well one’s about an hour and twenty minutes) Also plan to do some cardio.

    4: Nah, I do it alone. 🙂 I like it that way

    5: Gymnastics. I’m too clumsy and inexperienced though. XD

    6: Walking! It’s just me and my ipod baby. I basically go all the way across town on my walks. It’s also how I get my “me time”.

    7:Daily though occaisonally I’ll throw in a lazy day. XD

    8: Nothing I didn’t already know, really.

    9: eh nah. I’m not a fan of competition and prefer to work out alone.

    10: Do more cardio

    1. What is your favorite part of gym class at school?
    – Not cardio or the weight-room (although I always preferred the latter). I’d have to say the games we played, like Capture the Flag (only in Elementary school, unfortunately), or Kickball. 🙂

    2. What is your favorite form of exercise?
    – Dancing or Yoga (I have a weight-loss yoga DVD by Bob from the Biggest Loser!)

    3. How do you plan to exercise this summer?
    – Trying to do it everyday, if possible. 🙂

    4. Do you have a workout buddy to do activities with?
    – No….

    5. What is one form of working out that you’ve never tried, but would like to?
    – Tap dancing.

    6. What type of exercise always makes you feel great afterward?
    – Yoga

    7. How often do you like to get out and be active?
    – I like to be active in my house, I don’t like being active outside.

    8. What’s something that you’ve learned from gym or health class that has helped you when you work out on your own?
    – Drink a lot of water! And stretch before and after working out.

    9. Do you play any sports, either with friends, for school or locally?
    – The only sports I play are the ones I play with the youth group at my church.

    Shed some fat, and inches! 🙂

    1. What is your favorite part of gym class at school? I was in cheerleading, so I loved all of it; the dance routines, the cheers, the stunts; etc.
    2. What is your favorite form of exercise? Pilates, Cardio dance, and Yoga.
    3. How do you plan to exercise this summer? Utilize Blogilates on Youtube.
    4. Do you have a workout buddy to do activities with? My Mom 🙂
    5. What is one form of working out that you’ve never tried, but would like to? kick boxing
    6. What type of exercise always makes you feel great afterward? Pilates, Cardio Dance, Tabata, and Yoga
    7. How often do you like to get out and be active? An hour or so a few times a week. Though, I like walking through the family garden ever afternoon with my parents.
    8. What’s something that you’ve learned from gym or health class that has helped you when you work out on your own? Know your limits, then push them a little (but not too much).
    9. Do you play any sports, either with friends, for school or locally? I played tennis for awhile, and I also used to cheer, but that was it.
    10. Do you have any fitness goals for the summer? I plan on perfecting my splits, scorpion, and needle.

      I can do a full split but I can’t get the far inside of the thigh to reach. Do you have any stretches or anything that might help?

    I enjoy ab workouts and running and walking.

    I plan on running with friends and we do conditioning at cheer practice.

    My two friends and neighbors.

    Hot yoga

    ab workouts

    I learned a lot about exercising in health my freshman year.

    I am on the cheer team at my school. (well we haven’t had try outs yet, but practices started)
    10. Do you have any fitness goals for the summer?
    No, I am actually underweight so I need to gain weight, but I also learned about a medical condition I have that exercising helps with, So, I am trying to gain weight, but also exercise more.

    There are many choices when it comes to gym class, they change all the activities after a while and they have really cool activities for us!

    Dancing! I like taking Zumba at the gym, and i also like calisthenics 🙂

    Going to the gym a lot and also running

    8. What’s something that you’ve learned from gym or health class that has helped you when you work out on your own? My gym teacher has taught me a lot of ab exercises and also has taught me to never workout the same muscle groups after working them out the day before, give a day rest 🙂
    9. Do you play any sports, either with friends, for school or locally? Distance running for track & field for school, and i like playing basketball with friends

    I don’t have to take gym class anymore!
    2. What is your favorite form of exercise?
    I love to run and I think weight lifting and other cardio (Insanity) is fun.
    3. How do you plan to exercise this summer?
    I plan to run with my cross country team.
    4. Do you have a workout buddy to do activities with?
    I have more than one buddy, I have a whole team of workout buddies!
    5. What is one form of working out that you’ve never tried, but would like to?
    I would like to try yoga, I think it would be fun. I also tried Zumba once, and want to do that again.
    6. What type of exercise always makes you feel great afterward?
    Running, especially after a race always makes me feel good after (once I stop feeling the pain of the race lol).
    7. How often do you like to get out and be active?
    I like to get out and be active 5-7 days a week. Normally closer to 5 because those are the days I have practice.
    8. What’s something that you’ve learned from gym or health class that has helped you when you work out on your own?
    To stay hydrated and eat healthy (I learned this at practice)
    9. Do you play any sports, either with friends, for school or locally?
    I run on the cross country/indoor track/outdoor track teams.
    10. Do you have any fitness goals for the summer?
    To run with the varsity team in workouts and get my times down to 21:30 for a 5k (varsity letter time!)

    1. What is your favorite part of gym class at school? I haven’t taken PE since freshman year!
    2. What is your favorite form of exercise? I love, love, love to run and swim! I have vertigo so it’s hard for me to do other sports like basketball and soccer that involve a lot of movement.
    3. How do you plan to exercise this summer? My family just joined a Tae Kwon Do class, so that’s how I plan to exercise.
    4. Do you have a workout buddy to do activities with? Not really.
    5. What is one form of working out that you’ve never tried, but would like to? I’ve never done yoga, and I think it would be really cool to know how to.
    6. What type of exercise always makes you feel great afterward? Running.
    7. How often do you like to get out and be active? I like to get out and do stuff at least 3 times a week.
    8. What’s something that you’ve learned from gym or health class that has helped you when you work out on your own? Being in the Tae Kwon Do class has given me a sense of motivation because I don’t want to look bad in front of all the other people there, so I try a lot harder than when I’m exercising on my own!

    1. What is your favorite part of gym class at school?
    When I took gym class my freshman year in high school my favorite part was running a mile (4 laps) around the school track even though other girls hated it.
    2. What is your favorite form of exercise?
    Swimming, yoga, and anything with cardio, esp. hiking.
    3. How do you plan to exercise this summer?
    Lots and LOTS of swimming! It’s hot in AZ! And maybe going on a hike or two.

    No, I prefer to workout by myself. That’s not weird is it?

    I really want to try Zumba! I love having fun when working out and Brazilian music, so I feel like it would be fun to try.

    Yoga and swimming. Yoga makes me feel relaxed and helps with my flexibility/muscle strength, and swimming helps me get toned and have fun while doing it!

    At least every other day! I can’t stand sitting inside when I could be outside getting fresh air and having fun.

    Just do the best you can, as long as you eat somewhat healthy and try to exercise you’ll live a healthy lifestyle.

    When we have our volleyball unit
    2. What is your favorite form of exercise?
    Playing volleyball
    3. How do you plan to exercise this summer?
    hiking and walking like crazy, as I am working at a camp this summer

    5. What is one form of working out that you’ve never tried, but would like to?
    no clue!

    None.

    Once a day, at least

    Don’t drink too much water, and don’t drink gatorade or energy drinks unless you’re sweating like crazy because you will overload on electrolytes

    Lose 20 pounds, flatten my stomach, gain more strength/muscle in my legs, as I had surgery on both hips in the past 4 months

    Martial Arts.

    My work.

    Martial Arts that’s actually NOT theraputic.

    That excersizing is a pain in the butt.

    Martial Arts, but I just got my black belt, and I’m graduating on June 8th.

    Flatten my stomach. Not get abs; just lose the belly flab that makes me look (what I think is) somewhat fat when I’m bloated.
    And eat more healthily.

    1. What is your favorite part of gym class at school?
    The mile.

    2. What is your favorite form of exercise?
    Running. Sprints, distance, it really doesn’t matter to me. Everything in moderation 🙂

    3. How do you plan to exercise this summer?
    Running distance in preparation for XC season. Maybe doing a few 5k’s here and there.

    Psh, I’ve got a whole team 🙂

    5. What is one form of working out that you’ve never tried, but would like to?
    Weightlifting. I have a bad back so I really have to be careful, which is the main reason I’ve never done it. But it would be nice to have some arm muscle to work with… I actualy just got myself some little weights. I plan on working myself up slowly.

    6. What type of exercise always makes you feel great afterward?
    Running! Especially after a race.

    7. How often do you like to get out and be active?
    6 to 7 days a week. It’s good to have days off fairly often.

    8. What’s something that you’ve learned from gym or health class that has helped you when you work out on your own?
    Hydration. It’s mroe important than you would ever imagine, and makes you feel so much better. And most people are never as hydrated as they should be, especially while they are active. Active people should be drinking 12 cups of water daily. It’s a lot, but it’s not too bad if you slowly work up to it.

    9. Do you play any sports, either with friends, for school or locally?
    Track and XC. 🙂

    10. Do you have any fitness goals for the summer?
    Yeah, just to train for XC… I’m a sprinter in track, so it’s really weird to suddenly switch from sprints to distance. My goal is to get into the 21’s for my 5k’s for XC… maybe even the 20’s (But I’m more focused on the 21 so I don’t get disappointed, haha)

      I do power lifting; it’s a lot of fun! I used to have back problems, but the weight training actually really helped and strengthened my back! Highly suggest checking it out! Or maybe find a crossfit gym in your area!(:

    Dance, ballet specifically, but I had to quit dance to now I really like to swim laps

    swimming. I can disconnect for a while and be alone with my thoughts. I always feel really refreshed and ready to take on anything when I’ve gone swimming.

    At least a couple times a week

    8. What’s something that you’ve learned from gym or health class that has helped you when you work out on your own?
    Breathing. It sounds weird but the breathing techniques I learned in Pilates have really helped with all of my workouts.

    I swim on a team with my Y but I want to swim for a school next year

    be able to run a mile without taking any breaks. I have no stamina when I run and I want to build that up.
