    1. What is your favorite story from the Bible and why?
    – I love many stories so I’ll pick a few. I really like the book of Ruth because it’s a book about friendship, loyalty, and love. Ruth is also my name so I feel inspired to be like the woman who with her character was given the honor of becoming David’s great grandmother and an ancestor of Jesus! 🙂 I like the book of Esther because of her courage. I like the story of the prostitute who was getting stoned and Jesus was like “he who has no sin let him throw the first stone.” And all the people knew they had all sinned and Jesus completely forgave her. Like, he didn’t judge and loved her all the same! Job because he still believed even when he had nothing. Jesus’ life. When the woman touched Jesus and had the faith that she would get healed just from touching his cloak. I have so many more but I’ll stop now! 😀

    2. Describe a recent sermon given at church that really impacted you.
    – I can’t think of a recent sermon but I’ll share my favorite. David Grant, founder of Project Rescue, said that when he was getting into missions, it was because he heard a sermon on Sunday morning. It impacted him in a huge way because he wanted to give but didn’t have anything to give on the day. So he gave himself. He literally stepped onto that offering plate and told God, “Here I am, send me!”

    3. What Biblical teaching is held in high regard within your family?
    – Loving others and I think having faith in God no matter what. Just keep praying and God will answer your prayers.

    4. What is your personal favorite Christian teaching?
    – Anything in the book of psalms.

    5. What message do you most enjoy sharing with friends?
    – The fact that Jesus loves us no matter what we do, who we are, how we look, etc! It’s so amazing that we can have such a free relationship with him. He created us in our mother’s wombs and knew us before we were even born. He thinks we are “fearfully and wonderfully made.” WHAT AN AWESOME GOD! <3
    – Of course, the salvation (gospel) message too:P and the "GO AND MAKE DISCIPLES!"

    6. Which element of Christianity has helped you most in the challenging parts of your life?
    – Prayer, the fact that Jesus loves me no matter what, that I have an ordained and blessed future and it has been created special for me even before I was born!

    7. Which teaching do you feel needs more attention or too often loses its impact?
    – Judging. People…even Christians….often judge people based on their actions, their look, etc. They always forget 1st Peter 4:8, "Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins." Like stop judging and leave that to God because He is the only judge. Just keep loving.

    8. What are you yearning to learn more about?
    – I want to know more about God and heaven and that's half the reason I love Revelation. It teaches you that the second coming is near, all about life in heaven praising God, etc! <3

    9. What is your favorite passage from the Bible and why?
    – SO MANYYYYY. But some I really love is the book of James, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Isaiah, Jeremiah 1, John, Revelation, Hebrews, etc! LOL! Love it. 🙂

    10. Who has most helped you learn about walking with God?
    – My family, missionary books, and missionaries who come to my church.

d1. What is your favorite story from the Bible and why?
Anything in Matthew, Jesus’s life is uplifting and inspiring to me. The book of Matthew in my bible is covered in highlighter:)

    2. Describe a recent sermon given at church that really impacted you.
The pastor of my brother’s church and our former church preached about how Jesus came as a fragile baby and made himself like us, and walked with us until his death. Jesus came as a small, squishy, weak baby instead of a powerful hero that everyone looked up to. It was just really eye-opening

    3. What Biblical teaching is held in high regard within your family?
Do not judge, for you will too be judged. I can’t remember what passage this is, but it’s really important in our family, as we have all been the victims of judgement from all kinds of people, so-call friends, christians, and more because our parents divorced and it was ugly.

    4. What is your personal favorite Christian teaching?
I guess it would be the the stories of David and Jesus, it was cool to think how they differed and such.

    5. What message do you most enjoy sharing with friends?
Probably just God’s indescribable love, and his creation through science. I’m a science geek.

    6. Which element of Christianity has helped you most in the challenging parts of your life?
Trust, Hope and Faith. It seems they all intertwine to form a healthy relationship with God.

    7. Which teaching do you feel needs more attention or too often loses its impact?
Simple stories like David and Goliath, Noah’s Ark, Jonah, and other simple sunday school stories that adults should really focus and decipher all aspects of them.

    8. What are you yearning to learn more about?
Revalations, for some reason, I’ve avoided this chapter my whole life.
    9. What is your favorite passage from the Bible and why?
“I can do all things through HE who gives me strength.” Phillipians 4:13 Whenever I’m having trouble with something, praying to God about it always makes me feel better about it and helps me get through it.
    10. Who has most helped you learn about walking with God?
I have to say Bethany Hamilton was the one that helped me the most. She inspired me to start going to church again and get closer to God, because nothing on earth is worth giving up what God has in store for us in Heaven. Bethany also inspired to pursue my forgotten dream of surfing! She’s one awesome gal. Total role model material 🙂

    1. What is your favorite story from the Bible and why?
Although it’s very hard to pick, and well I can’t, and not going with the conventional, “Sunday school answer”, I would have to say the story of the prostitute washing Jesus’s feet with her hair and tears, and being told she was forgiven and to go in peace.

    2. Describe a recent sermon given at church that really impacted you. My youth pastor recently challenged us with the question: If we truly believed what the bible says, how would things change? He encouraged us to share Jesus with the people we claim to care about. He encouraged us to share the truth that could save people from an eternity in hell.

    3. What Biblical teaching is held in high regard within your family? I’m not really sure of a specific one that is important, but I feel that my family, especially my mom, holds high the teaching of love and salvation.

1 Corinthians 13, because of I love what it says about love, what it is, and how we’re supposed to love.

    10. Who has most helped you learn about walking with God?
Probably either my mom, my youth pastor’s wife, or my boyfriend.

    1. What is your favorite story from the Bible and why?- I love the story of Jesus talking to the woman caught in the act of adultery. “If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her,” and everyone, including the Pharisees left. That had to have hurt their pride, I mean, they were the ones that everyone looked up to. Not only that, but they were the most devout religious folk. It had to have hurt her pride, too. First off, she was caught sinning. Then, she was dragged before all these people, probably including people she knew. Then, her life was put in the hands of this man she’d never met. And then, just to make everything even more embarrassing, the man used her to shame these Pharisees. She was deserving of death, and I’d imagine she knew that, but this stranger let her go with a warning. Y’know, though, most of the time, it takes broken pride to learn a lesson. And here’s my favorite part, after all the men left, Jesus didn’t angrily force her to repent, he gently told her, “Go and sin no more.” I think that sums up Jesus’ ministry nicely. He wasn’t about retribution. This woman, just like all of us today, was the reason he died. Instead of making us pay for it, he lovingly forgives us when we ask, and in return asks only that we “Go and sin no more.”

    2. Describe a recent sermon given at church that really impacted you.- Well, I’d say the service last night did. We went through the seven last words of Jesus (pardon me if I’m labeling that wrong) and my youth pastor wrote a poem on John 19: 26-27. (Here’s a link to the poem he spoke if you’re interested in reading it. http://differentparent.com/2013/03/29/a-poem-from-john-1926-27/ ) Anyway, the last two lines are:

“As new mother and new son saw each other and smiled
They realized they were both actually his child…”

I’m adopted, so a lot of times, I don’t really feel connected to my family. Recently, it seems my sisters are making an effort to change that. Idk if they even realize that I’ve been kinda struggling with this, but it doesn’t matter. The fact is that, even if I don’t feel bound to them by blood, we share a deeper bond, having been washed by the blood of Jesus, and sharing a love for him. We’re sisters by that. And that means the world to me. 🙂

    3. What Biblical teaching is held in high regard within your family?- Jesus died on the cross to save us from sin, then rose to save us from death, and all have sinned, so we’re all in need of Him.

    4. What is your personal favorite Christian teaching?- Probably what I wrote before.

    5. What message do you most enjoy sharing with friends?- What I wrote before… Haha

    6. Which element of Christianity has helped you most in the challenging parts of your life?- Realizing that it’s by grace that I’ve been saved, through faith, not by my own works. Cause if I had to earn salvation, I’d be going to hell for sure.

    7. Which teaching do you feel needs more attention or too often loses its impact?- That the Bible is the inspired word of God. I’ve heard so many Christians say that this-or-this is outdated and no longer applies, just because it’s from the old testament. There are some things that have been put away, because “Unlike other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices every day. They did this for their own sins first and then for the sins of the people. But Jesus did this once for all (time) when he offered himself as the sacrifice for the people’s sins,”(Hebrews 7:27) but that a lot of the old testament still holds true today. I’m not sure of all of it, I won’t pretend to be any kind of expert, but the Bible is being belittled, and it makes me sad.

    8. What are you yearning to learn more about?- Everything! I love my Jesus and my God, and I want to know everything I can possibly know!

    9. What is your favorite passage from the Bible and why?- Romans 3:23-24 For ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and ALL are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

    10. Who has most helped you learn about walking with God?- I think just about everyone in my life has helped me learn about God. There’s my pastor. My BFF. She has helped me to think through the Bible, and also had some pretty thoughtful conversations with me. The ladies involved with the youth group. Most of my older sisters live like the woman in Proverbs 31, and are still really cool, and that’s helped me to see the Bible in a different light.

Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?”

I would say my wonderful Bible study teachers, and just going to church when the saints meet has definitely taught me. Being with an older generation church opens my eyes to things, that I need to look out for in my youth.

Probably the teaching about Jesus dying for the world’s sins, because we need to accept Him as Saviour before we can be saved!

    1. What is your favorite story from the Bible and why?
    — Well, you really can’t pick just one. I absolutely love the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection. I also love the story of Isaac and the Prodigal Son.

    2. Describe a recent sermon given at church that really impacted you.
    — Well, this really wasn’t recently, but last year, I listened to a sermon on the last part of Romans 8. It was really amazing, because it was JUST what I needed at the time, talking about how nothing, not even yourself, can separate you from God’s love.

    3. What Biblical teaching is held in high regard within your family?
    — Um, all of them? That’s kinda an odd question…

    4. What is your personal favorite Christian teaching?
    — God’s mercy and forgiveness. I think it’s amazing that, while we were still God’s enemy, who had done nothing for Him, and had run after everything but Him, He sacrificed His son for us.

    5. What message do you most enjoy sharing with friends?
    — That God has it all under control, and He listens to your prayers.

    6. Which element of Christianity has helped you most in the challenging parts of your life?
    — God’s forgiveness. It’s amazing that, no matter how much like dirt you feel, God still brings you back.

    7. Which teaching do you feel needs more attention or too often loses its impact?
    — Jesus’ death and resurrection. It’s almost gotten overtaken by the rest of what goes on Easter Sunday- candy, the ‘easter bunny’ etc. It really bugs me that the most important day of the year has gotten lost and bogged down because of commercialization.

    8. What are you yearning to learn more about?
    — All of it!

    9. What is your favorite passage from the Bible and why?
    — Well it’s hard to pick just one. One of them is “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” [Romans 8:37-38] Another is “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” [1 John 3:1] And also “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: WHILE WE WERE YET SINNERS, Christ died for us.” [Romans 5:8]

    10. Who has most helped you learn about walking with God?
    — My family and my church family have been really supportive.

Hard to pick one so my top 3 are the nativity story, resurrection, and neshack badarack and abendago when they get thrown in the furnace. The nativity story because I read it with my family every Christmas morning and the king of kings is born!!! And the furnace one because God answers our prayers, God’s miracles are amazing, and always stand up for your faith. 🙂

    2. Describe a recent sermon given at church that really impacted you.

Respect your parents, be honest and be a loving and forgiving person.

    1. What is your favorite story from the Bible and why?
The Nativity story! And Easter. It’s hard to pick just one!

    2. Describe a recent sermon given at church that really impacted you.
In Sunday school my teacher did a game where we had to debate how Jesus’ miracles could be fake, and of course my side (finding ways how it could be fake) lost against the opposing side (how we know it’s real). There really isn’t a way to deny Jesus’ good works!

    3. What Biblical teaching is held in high regard within your family?
Proverbs 12:1, Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is stupid. And Proverbs 16:3, Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.

    4. What is your personal favorite Christian teaching?
Anything on the birth of Jesus, or the death. I feel it is important to know what they went through back then.

    5. What message do you most enjoy sharing with friends?
That God has everything covered and knows what He is doing. Just trust in Him and hand everything over to Him!

    6. Which element of Christianity has helped you most in the challenging parts of your life?
Element of Chrisianity? Not sure what that is, lol. But prayer has gotten me through all of my struggles! And reading the Psalms too.

    7. Which teaching do you feel needs more attention or too often loses its impact?
Books like Ephesians, James, The Corinthians and Thessalonians, Philippians, Galatians, ect. Basically the “advice and rules to live by” books, as I call them.

    8. What are you yearning to learn more about?
    Everything!

    9. What is your favorite passage from the Bible and why?
Psalm 37:3-7 (It’s long so I won’t post it). It really speaks to me and gives me hope in God.

    10. Who has most helped you learn about walking with God?
Hmmmm…that’s a difficult one. Really just my personal teaching (like reading the Bible myself) has made the biggest impact. But godly examples really help, like Kirk Cameron, the Duggars, and Bethany Hamilton. When I hear or see them I just want to dig into God’s Word!
