I finished “Into the Light” a few days ago, and I found it so powerful, so inspiring, and so positive. Thank you, Nicole!! 🙂

Chapter Six: I am lucky to have a really strong Christian girl friend–I can go to her for prayer requests, advice, and just to chat! Community is so important.

Prologue: What event in your life do you regret and what did you learn from it? I havent had a huge event in my fourteen years! I cant really think of anything nit saying my life is easy cause it is not but I cant think of anything right now!
Chapter One: Nicole got “lost” in daydreams of being a star. What do you get “lost” in? Are your dreams in line with the gifts and passions God has given you or do you forget to include Him in your plans? I think of my future, most of the time of what I want to happen I never even think of the gifts ive recived from God, im trying to work on that!
Chapter Two: Just as Nicole was getting established in second grade, she and her mom moved to another country. What was the biggest life change that occurred when you were a child? How did you feel about it? What helped you get through it? Probably moving a town over for one year, I was in fourth grade! While it was fun to live with my grandparents, live by my younger cousin etc, I mostly thought of the negatives. Starting a new school, I was a friend with a lot of the guys less drama I guess! We moved back to my hometown the next school year. I think looking back now my family really helped and the feeling of just be young no worries at all, that was the last year when I think I really enjoyed being little! Funny way things turn out, im close with a couple of the kids from 4th grade we are going to the same highschool which im excited about!
Chapter Three: What challenges did you face in adolescence? Did your self-esteem remain healthy? I really dont know lol
Chapter Four: Are your parents married, divorced or never married? How has their relationship affected you? never married, in some way im lucky in a way its just me and my mom, my dad is no criminal or anything. I dont have a reletionship with him which is currently my choice, my mom still talks to him alot which in a lot of ways effects me, I get mad to a certain degree, I want nothing to do with him and do not wish to keep in contact. Some of my family members think its un healthy for me to avoid him but I dont miss what I have never had!
Chapter Five: What is your lifelong dream? How do you plan to achieve it? To find a godly man and become a elementary school teacher!
Chapter Six: Nicole’s friend Christina always encouraged her. Which person in your life is an encouragement to you? Whom do you encourage? I think i encourage a lot of my friends, isnt that why they come to me wth all theyre problems?! And someone from my YG, one of my buddies and ew just friends anyways if im stuck and dont know what to do I just think of what he would say, in a way not really but he knows what i can do and he will push me to do better! And God of course!
Chapter Seven: What religion or faith were you brought up in? What have you come to believe on your own? My moms side and I think fathers were both Catholic (I always grew up beleving in God just not going to church)in 6th grade I started YG at the church across my street! One thing led to another and now both me and my mom go to a Methodist church. She and her best friend run my YG! I plan to continue this religion and hopefully one day my kids and future spouse will be involved as much as I am!
Chapter Eight: What was the lowest point in your life? How did you get through it? What did you learn from it?The lowest point so far in my fourteen years I have to say is 6th grade year, the transition was really rough for me and a lot of my classmates too. We left behind a beautiful building that had a huge playground with terrific teachers that would always leave a mark on our lives, we entered a building that most of our parents even grandparents went to, very old! Not to mention some of us hadd a rough strict teacher. I went home crying every night, I did soccer which I loved and joined and later created most of the clubs. I tried cheering in the winter, the coah was very very rough to the point where id be so sick from practice id come home crying not to mention my mean teacher! I was so glad when summer came around, looking back now 7th and 8th got better obviously lots of drama but that year and middle school shaped me as a nperson today!
Chapter Nine: In this chapter, Nicole shares some of her “God-incidences.” What God-incidences have you witnessed in your life? Recently actually, Im still sort of new to religion. So lately ive been wondering on i guess well who will be in my future who is going to be my future husband. I understand im fourteen but doesnt everyone have that curiosity? Anyways I had a dream that night (I was on vacation) I went through the window up into the clouds, gosh i was so scared I thought I actually died. i looked around and all I saw was just clouds kind of blury obviously I didnt have my glasses on. All of the sudden I saw this figure walking torwards me, as he got closer I could see his features, white long gown beard, it came to me it was God.Here is what he said: My dear Elizabeth, i understand that you really want to know who your future husband is. Please trust me as I have already found someone special for you. When the time is right, I will bring him to you. Enjoy these years being young. I said but who is it. The last thing he said was you will know when the time is right. All the sudden it went black so i think i fell asleep. It may be stupid but it was the first God-incidence that happened. Sometimes well normally id dream of the future but since that night I listen to my music and fall asleep no dreams. I really trust him now and still a little shocked 🙂 Chapter Ten: Nicole admired Eric for his respect and kindness. What qualities do you want your future husband to have? Strong, a man of God. He has to treat his mother with respect cause that is how he will treat me, I also like to see him around kids. Involved in church too!
Chapter Eleven: What are you passionate about? What do you believe your purpose is? After reading Nicole’s story, how do you plan to make a difference with your life? Well first that God works in myseterious ways, I know things will fall into place on his time! This book has changed how ive looked pretty much at everything. Im passionate about kids so I really want to work with them later on. Id really like to when im in the right time of my life take a mission trip, I plan to work with my YG on preparing for that. Thanks Nicole read it in a day! Please write more!!!!

Chapter Nine: In this chapter, Nicole shares some of her “God-incidences.” What God-incidences have you witnessed in your life?

-I have seen and have had visions of angels, demons, and many different things in the Heavenly realms. I have also drawn some demons( I don’t have them anymore).
A God-incidence was when I was at youth group and one of my friends asked if he could share a vision that he had that God said was me. He said that there was this ballet slipper at the shore of some water. As the person with the slipper on touched the water with the tip of the slipper, she backed away. My friend said that I want to do many things, but I’m just too afraid to do it (which was true). A couple minutes after he left, I started to feel something happen inside of me. After sitting on a chair, I collapsed onto the floor and laid down on a friend’s lap while all of the girls were praying for me. Ten minutes later, I woke up finding that my feet, socks, and shoes were wet. When I looked around, there was nothing that could have made them wet. They were just there. Wet and ready to walk.

Chapter Seven: What religion or faith were you brought up in? What have you come to believe on your own?

I grew up in the Roman Catholic Church. A place where they probably wouldn’t even let Jesus in because He wouldn’t look the part. Although it wasn’t strictly practiced at home, I went to masses with my school and on holidays with my family. I never liked it because it seemed so judgmental and critical and mostly FAKE to me. The priest made you feel like you weren’t good enough to be loved by God. But what I have come to believe on my own is that you don’t earn God’s love. He gives it freely because Jesus paid the cost for my sins to be forgiven. I believe that because I received Jesus as my Saviour and as the Lord of my life, that I am right with God. Nothing I do can change that.. and if I sin, which I will because I’m not perfect, I have God’s grace. But, I also don’t take his grace lightly because I respect and am fearful of Him.

Like Jefferson Bethke said in his book Jesus (is greater than) Religion- we are the daughters and sons of the King. If someone asked you if you were your parents daughter, you wouldn’t tell them you’re trying to be, or your not the strongest daughter. You are connected to God, you are his daughter no matter what.
