The 48th Annual GMA Dove Awards for Christian Music

This year at the 48th annual Gospel Music Association Dove Awards, Kari Jobe hosted alongside Tasha Cobbs Leonard. Some of the legendary performers at this celebration of Christian music were Reba McEntire, CeCe Winans, Matt Redman, the Gaither Vocal Band, and more. Some of the new performers were Danny Gokey, MercyMe, Hollyn, Erica Campbell and Tauren Wells. The presenters were Chris Tomlin, For King and Country, Beth Moore, Tamela Mann, John Gray, Lauren Daigle, Montell Jordan and Jaci Velasquez, just to name a few.

Some of the winners who took home a Dove were Hillsong Worship for “What a Beautiful Name,” Bart Millard for Songwriter of the Year, Casting Crowns for Contemporary Christian Artist of the Year, the Gaither Vocal Band for Southern Gospel Artist of the Year, CeCe Winans for Gospel Artist of the Year, MercyMe for Artist of the Year and NEEDTOBREATHE for “Hard Love” (featuring Lauren Daigle). The theme of the award show was “The Sound Remedy,” stemming from the idea that God’s message—the Bible and the Gospel—is the remedy to the world. Amen! The award show was held at the Lipscomb Theatre in Nashville, Tennessee, and is held there annually.

Show host Tasha Cobb wrote a song with Chris Tomlin called “Gracefully Broken”—make sure to check it out! Kari Jobe released her latest album, called The Garden; make sure to watch her performance or the live version of her singing this below!
