The Before and After Files #11

I am fascinated by close up shots, because I’ve noticed that I can almost look like a different person (well, okay. Maybe just a perfect twin sister) after the Photoshop guru has touched up the photo.

In this shot he gave me absolutely impeccable skin…I don’t think I have a single pore in the “after” image. I also have brighter eyes, not a single beauty mark, and not a single stray hair.

It’s when I look at photos like this that I understand why people LOVE candid shots of models and celebrities. When you see someone’s image captured on a camera phone you realize that yes, they have pores. They have bad hair days. And they are human, too.

I don’t like the fact that you’re exposing your whole back in the full shot…

You are beautiful in both. I used to feel bad about myself because I couldn’t look like them. Then I realized that the real beauty was the computers. But not in your case!

i didnt realy know how else to adress this to you but i think you guys should do an article on sisters and the importance of relationships with your blood sisters and how to keep that relationship helthy so many girls my age(me included) fight with our sisters way to much and itdamages the relationship and part of being a christan is being able to have good relationships ad to know when enough fighting is enough and to just agree to disagree!!!!

I love that you are willing to show these! It reminded me of a video we watched at youth group one time of a girl who was already pretty but apparently wasn’t pretty enough to model for them? Here’s the link if you would like to see it! http://youtu.be/s2gD80jv5ZQ
I think it really did some good for the girls in my youth group! Thanks for doing what you’re doing Nicole! Praying you have the strength to keep it going! ๐Ÿ™‚

You’re really beautiful without photoshop! I think that photoshop should be banned, and that they can still use makeup on the models, but not make them look like racoons or Lady Gaga.
I think we should be alright with everyone’s image for who they are.

Nicole I’m a fan of your site, but if you’re against photoshopping then why is your profile pic and pic on the top right of Project Inspired photoshopped?

I honestly think the unphotoshopped one looks much better, because they are dimming your pretty features! You are goregous Nicole!

I’ve wondered the same thing. It seems like it sends a mixed message.

To be honest I totally thought the left one was photoshoped I personally just think it looks better but thats just me.

it is ridiculous that this photo was even shopped. Its perfect. Your skin is radiant and gorgeous, your hair looks amazing, and your eyes are beautiful. MY Gosh!

aww thanks Nora! I know it’s crazy and terrible how the media uses photoshop to trick girls!

  16. Posted by on September 15, 2011 at 15:06

you look better in the firts photo, why would they re-touch that?! 0_o

    • Posted by Nicole on September 15, 2011 at 16:58

I don’t know! because photoshop is so fake!

  17. Posted by on August 27, 2011 at 14:51

Seriously, this is riciculous. You already look beautiful in the first picture…. The second one is just not natural. The media really is terrible, they make you jealous and want to look like something fake and impossible! No one is that perfect!

  18. Posted by on August 22, 2011 at 18:51

I don’t think you really need to be photoshopped, but I would like to point out that this was clearly not a top notch photographer. The lighting was bad, the angle was off, and it just didn’t fit right. That’s a HUGE reason why many magazines use SO MUCH photoshop. Sometimes the picture looks right when you take it, but not after you review and crop it.

I’ve posted this on project inspired before! It’s so powerful.

  21. Posted by on June 21, 2011 at 10:18

My question is that it seems like with the “Before and After Files” Your saying that your against that yet all you pictures like on the top right are photoshoped.

  22. Posted by on June 19, 2011 at 11:26

You look AMAZING! You do NOT need need airbrushing at ALL! In my opinion, you look like you’ve already been airbrushed in the first picture!

  23. Posted by on June 19, 2011 at 00:19

But even as you were a model..? Sorry I’m not trying to be rude… ๐Ÿ™

Hm? Models don’t have the CHOICE of being photoshopped. It’s the editor’s choice. So it’s not any model’s fault that that happens to them. ๐Ÿ™‚

        Posted by naynay141516 on July 7, 2012 at 15:25

No they don’t have a choice because they’re being paid to do whatever their employer says, and if they say that they don’t want it to be photoshopped, they might loose the job.

  24. Posted by on June 18, 2011 at 20:12

Question… If you want girls to not feel like they have to look like the models in magazines, then why do you have people photoshop your pictures? Just curious…

    • Posted by Nicole on June 19, 2011 at 00:15

because I show the real, unedited picture with it. To show the power of airbrushing afterward.

That’s so crazy! You look amazing in both of the pictures ๐Ÿ™‚ I LOVE the before and after files, it helps me remember that the photos in magazines that look perfect, aren’t real.. Thank you!

  25. Posted by on June 18, 2011 at 14:34

You are beautiful before and after! I prefer the before photo though, because it’s real!! ๐Ÿ˜€
