The Death of Backstreet Boy Nick Carter’s Little Sister
Written by Christi Given | February 17, 2012
It seems that every few months, a young entertainer dies. Amy Winehouse’s death from alcohol poisoning last summer was so unexpected–she was just 27.
Prior to Winehouse’s death were the deaths of Heath Ledger, Brittany Murphy and others. More recently, Whitney Houston shockingly passed away. The cause of her death has not yet been confirmed, but we see a link of drug and substance abuse throughout these different celebrities’ lives.
So many people want to live life in the fast lane–the enemy has his grip on their minds. This is not a time to be lukewarm with God. We need to rise up in the church and set an example for the dying generation. People are hungry and thirst for the truth.
It’s so sad that people are deceived by the trick of drugs and alcohol. Hollywood makes partying look “cool” and “fun” and sends that message throughout most mainstream pop media. The truth is, it leads to death.
There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death (Proverbs 14:12).
Last month, Leslie Carter, sister to singers Nick Carter (of the Backstreet Boys) and Aaron Carter, was found dead at the age of 25. While the cause of her death is still unknown, she too was caught up in the party scene, and unfortunately it seems to have led to her destruction.
Girls, please listen and learn from what you see. The fruit of a person who holds on, lives for God and sacrifices a little will have lasting fruit, even if it doesn’t look like it right away. In the end, it will be worth it.
‘I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing’ (John 15:5).
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23).
Let us pray for revival in Hollywood and for people to wake up spiritually. In John 15 it says that God is the vine and we are the branches. Without God, YOU CAN DO NOTHING. We need to stay connected to God (the vine) through prayer and in the word!
Life is too short and we need to tell people the truth in love.
PI girls, please write a prayer–whatever is on your heart–in the comments. God loves you so much! Be blessed today!
