“The Impossible”: Miracle Story of a 14-Year-Old Who Came Back to Life

Recently on Christian radio, on the program Building God’s Kingdom in Media, I had the honor to interview Joyce Smith, author of The Impossible, and Pastor Jason Noble with Reaching Out Radio’s Ambassador Elisa. The radio show featured the story of 14-year-old John Smith, who fell into an icy Missouri lake one day and died for 60 minutes.

John’s mother, Joyce, a praying woman of faith, never claimed her son died. She never spoke it out and never believed it. She stood on God’s Word and experienced a Lazarus-type of resurrection, similar to the story in the Bible when Jesus raised him up again (read John, Chapter 11).

Listen to the whole story below:

Death and life are in the power of the tongue; and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. (Proverbs 18:21)

The nurses and doctors were even astonished at the boy’s resurrection story and testimony. It has been three years since the event took place and FOX Studios is planning on making a feature film with DeVon Franklin about John’s supernatural experience. This story reminds me of a Miracles From Heaven type of story.

PI readers, have you seen God heal someone or do you need a miracle? Believe and ask God in faith. He said if you have the faith of a mustard seed, you can move mountains. Faith pleases God; doubt and fear comes from the enemy. Stand on God’s Word (the Bible) and His truth and power. God is able to do what you are waiting for, but better! (Ephesians 3:20)

PI Girls, do you believe in miracles? Are you waiting on a miracle? Comment below.

John Smith is very good friends with my pastor’s daughter. Even though he went to a different church at the time, my pastor spent a lot of time at the hospital with him. It was amazing hearing this story unfold as it happened, and I can’t wait for more people to hear it.

My grandma was in a car accident years ago. I don’t think I was born yet. But she had less than 1% chance of living. And she’s still alive today! More than 16 years after. I love my grandma and although she can’t do some things others her age could do she is the most loving, sweet, caring person ever!

Another story is actually a pretty recent one. I am going on a mission trip in 23 days and during the process of getting ready we came across a difficulty with getting a passport. I was adopted and so they needed proof that I actually was. We didn’t exactly have everything they requested ,but we sent everything that could possibly prove I was a US citizen and a little over two weeks later I got my passport and Both of my parents were concerned it was them sending my old one back, but something inside of me said your going to China. And a few hours later in the mail was my new passport.

Now my life isn’t amazing or anything and I could use so much more in my life, but I think I need to step back and be thankful for all God has done in the most unexpected, hard, seemed impossible situations!
