Tim Tebow: A Standout for Christ

You’ve probably heard of “Tebowing”–the bold quarterback Tim Tebow is a hot media topic. He has a big heart and even founded his own charity, “The Tim Tebow Foundation.” Tebow is not just a football star, but he’s also a star for Christ.

Tebow gives God the credit for his success. He takes the limelight off himself and has a compassionate heart that wants to help people. Yet Tebow has been questioned for his faith, and is now unable to paint Bible verses on his face during NFL games.

Tebow recently was interviewed by “Christianity Today.” Regardless of what people ask or say about him, Tebow stands his ground, the way he did in this interview:

Being outspoken about my faith isn’t just something I do; it’s who I am because my faith isn’t just a little piece of my life. It is my life (Tebow).

Wow, I love his boldness! Tebow doesn’t care what man thinks, and doesn’t try and please people. He isn’t swayed by opinion and isn’t altered by success. He doesn’t just claim Christianity or religion, but it encompasses who he is!

It appears that Tebow has a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ! He isn’t ashamed! It says in the Bible those who are ashamed of Jesus will be disowned in heaven.

Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven (Matthew 10:32).

As mentioned above, Tebow is no longer allowed to write scripture verses under his eyes for the football games, but God fought his battle for him! God will fight for you too! Even though Tebow couldn’t write his scripture on his face, he wore Luke 2:11 on his wrist band. That game he had 31.6 yards against the Houston Texans.

Tebow had the best game of his pro career in the wild card round, when he averaged 31.6 yards per completion, the best in the NFL in 40 years (Yahoo News).

God sure has a sense of humor, and He still got the Glory!

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him, will not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16).

Wow, what a powerful God we serve!

PI girls, are you a standout for Christ at your school? Or are you afraid of sharing Jesus with your friends? Tim Tebow is young, talented and successful, and has set a standard of not being ashamed for what he believes. Be encouraged that, even when you are criticized for your faith, you are not alone! Do not be ashamed, God fights for you!

The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still (Exodus 14:14).

Isn’t it also true that game had one of the shortest overtimes on record, 3.16 seconds?
