TODAY’S HOT TOPIC: Do You Celebrate Christmas Year-Round?
Written by T.M. Gaouette | December 11, 2012
Christmas is a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. We all celebrate in our own way and incorporate our own traditions.
We listen to music, watch movies, trim a tree, make a special meal, get together with family, offer up acts of kindness and generosity and go to church, among many other things. And then it’s done, at least until the following year, right?
But is it? Sure, Jesus’ birthday comes once a year, but shouldn’t we be celebrating it year-round?
I thought I’d offer a fun video to clarify my point.
I think the funniest part of the video are the reactions from the character explaining why we need to celebrate Christ’s birth all year. He offers an incredulous look, as if he’s not sure whether his friend’s kidding with him.
This is a really funny skit, but it offers a valid point we should all think about. Celebrating Christmas should be an on-going act. It doesn’t have to involve a big special dinner or a tree or presents. But it certainly can involve the many true elements of the season, such as remembering and worshiping Christ every day, obeying His commands and surrendering to Him daily, and offering kindness and generosity regularly.
Ladies, do you watch the Skit Guys on TV? How do you celebrate Christ’s birthday throughout the year?
