TODAY’S HOT TOPIC: Do You “Work With All Your Heart, As Working For The Lord”?

I have such an awesome story to share with you ladies.

In an attempt to overcome a fear of rejection, a Texas man, Jia Jiang, designed a “rejection therapy” program. Basically, he has to request something crazy–and deserving of rejection–once a day for 100 days. It’s his way of not feeling so bad about rejection!

But on day three, he’d already failed because of a Krispy Kreme employee who went above and beyond to accommodate his over-the-top request!

Take a look at the clip:

When I saw this clip, I thought of the verse:

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving (Colossians 3:23-24).

Jackie Braun is a fantastic example of someone who works with all her heart. She demonstrated that she puts 100% into her job. How many people would do that on a regular basis?

We all have jobs to do every day. Whether it’s work, school or chores, we have our repetitive responsibilities that can get tedious at times, right? But Christ asks that we do our work as if we are serving Him. If you had that in your mind, would you work harder? Would you give more?

Jiang was overwhelmed by Braun’s attention. He was speechless. He never expected that this woman would be so willing to accommodate his needs. And she had to go above and beyond. She wasn’t even sure if she could do it, but she was willing to try. She wanted to try. What a great example of servitude.

Girls, do you go above and beyond “as working for the Lord,” or do you need some work in that area? How does it make you feel when someone goes above and beyond to serve you?

I don’t know a single person including myself who works with all their heart. I’d heard a sermon about doing that, but I’d been pushing it away. Now I think I’ll ask God to help me work with all my heart, because I definetely can’t do it by myself.

That is SOOOOO amazing! The guy went in there fully excpecting a no, and that lady went far beyond anything he was expecting. In a world with so many people who simply don’t casre, that lady was AMAZING! And you never know just how much something will bless someone.

I had the opposite experience with my mom at Wal-Mart. We had bought a pre-paid phone card, and hadn’t even left the store when we were trying to scratch off the silver on the back and it was peeling off the numbers. So, we went back there(because it was about $30 and money is tight) to get them to take it back and replace it with another one. Well, one lady tried to scan it, returned it and tried to refund us, and the machine wouldn’t work. So she brought of another guy and he said, “Oh we can’t return that. It even says so on the card, You’ll have to talk to Verizon.” So we called Verizon and they said that it was Wal-Mart’s job. We talked to person after person trying to get them to refund us. Even the assistant manager, who had the power to fix it, wouldn’t help us. After a lot of hassle, we finally got them to give us a customer satisfaction gift card which we used to buy a new phone card. That was an example of the opposite of what this person experienced. I wish that this had been us, blessed because someone went out of their way. But unfortunately, not everyone has that kind of outlook on their job… D=
