TODAY’S HOT TOPIC: What’s Your Favorite Christmas Movie and Why?

I love watching Christmas movies. It’s fun seeing the same classics play year after year, some old and some newer–including one of my new favorites, Christmas Angel.

The story is about a young woman who’s not a fan of Christmas. But she learns that her friend and neighbor is a secret Santa. Christmas Angel has all the qualities of a great family Christmas movie.

I may be partial to this particular Christmas story because I find the idea of a secret Santa to be so cool. In fact, the idea of someone anonymously giving an enormous gift in order to help others prompted me to write my novel, The Destiny of Sunshine Ranch. But it’s not just a cute idea. It’s an expectation.

Becoming a “secret Santa” is exactly what Christ wants from us as His followers–to give without expecting anything in return and without looking for recognition!

Ladies, do you have a favorite Christmas movie? What is it and why do you love it?

“Holiday Inn” Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire – can’t get much better than that! I also like “The Shop Around The Corner” (Jimmy Stewart) and “Little Women” the 1949 version (June Allyson) and my list couldent be complete without “Its A Wonderful Life” and “White Christmas”.

My favorite Christmas movie is the Little Drummer Boy, and has become a tradition at our house to watch it every Christmas. I personally really like how it is about the REAL Christmas, unlike so many other Christmas movies that are only about Santa Claus.

White Christmas is my favorite, definitely. I love Bing Crosby’s voice and Danny Kaye’s character is absolutely hilarious. The dancing is incredible, as well 🙂

Secrets in the Snow is really great. It’s kind of like a christian breakfast club. The message is awesome and it is a great film that is relatable to teens. It’s new, but I got to see it at its premiere. It’s out on January 8th in christian bookstores and online.

National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. Not exactly the cleanest (so be careful!) But I’m 18, and fast forward through the parts that are not so clean. I also ADORE Elf, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas! As for Christian ones, I adore the Nativity Story.

To be honest, this might sound weird, but I think that A Christmas Carol aka Scrooge is a pretty awesome movie! I also kind of like White Christmas though i’ve only seen it once. My family also has Its a Wonderful Life even though we’ve never watched it.

If you asked me as far as kids movies, I would say the Grinch! I mean, who DOESN’T love that movie? And Charlie Brown Christmas is also another favorite 🙂

My favorite Christmas movie is definitely A Charlie Brown Christmas. I love how Charlie Brown is upset that Christmas has become so commercialized, and is confused as to what it’s all about. And then Linus helps him to see what Christmas is all about, in a very touching scene. Of course, I also like It’s a Wonderful Life, although I’m a little prejudiced against it, as I was in the play and it has several bad memories attached to it…

Three Days. It is a wonderful story of a married couple and how they rediscover their love for each other.
