Need some fun holiday activities to do with friends? With Thanksgiving coming up so soon, this is the time to make memories and to prepare for Christmas! Here are some ideas to get you in the holiday mood:
-
Have a decorating party–bake and decorate cookies with friends!
-
Go ice skating
-
Make your list and start your Christmas shopping now!
-
Volunteer at a soup kitchen with a friend or family member
-
Get out your Christmas music and have a holiday “karaoke” party
-
Go scarf and boot shopping (brr … it’s cold outside!)
-
Buy gingerbread house materials: frosting, graham crackers, and TONS of candy (gumdrops, candy canes, and more)! Use the frosting as glue and enjoy your gingerbread house!
-
Buy a mini Christmas tree and decorate it with fun ornaments
-
Decorate mini stockings (you can get them at a 99-cent store or Michael’s)
-
Make homemade Christmas cards and give them to family and friends
Whether you want to spend or save, you can still have fun and enjoy the holiday season! Remember, the season is about giving! Enjoy your holidays!
In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive’ (Acts 20:35).
I love volunteering, whether its the holiday season or not 🙂 it can be so much fun and rewarding, especially if you go with friends or church members
I do so love the christmas season! Its only black friday, and i do a whole bunch of getting presents for people, wrapping, storing, etc. But theres never a dull moment for me! 🙂 Christmas, for me, being 14 it just gives me a wonderful magic feeling that only comes around the christmas season! And i decorate my room, i put up my tree, and im always so happy and vibrant! Thanks for giving me more ideas to use!
I think I’ll make the homemade Christmas cards this year. If anyone has any ideas on how to make homemade gifts that don’t cost a lot to make, let me know please?
Can you sew at all? I like making presents that way. 🙂
Yes, you can make a scrapbook with stickers (or ask your Mom or parent for an extra frame if you can’t spend $) I love photos and it is always nice to look back on memories. Also, if you bake cookies and go to the cent store you can get cute little clear Christmas bags and tie a ribbon on them and give out Christmas cookies to your friends! 🙂 Also, homemade cards are nice-great idea!
I love, love, LOVE these ideas! Christmas is my favorite holiday, because there’s just so much you can do with it! From serving the Lord, to helping others, to just being with your family. It’s just a great time of year that makes me so happy! Happy Birthday, Jesus! 🙂
Christmas is my favorite holiday, and I love baking, doing crafts, volunteering, and christmas shopping with my friends and family!
One craft I especially love is the God’s Eye ornament! It’s really fun and easy, and you’ll find directions if you google them!
Never heard of that-sounds neat!
I like this Ideas. I’m going to work with Christmas cards.
I did a little scarf and boot shopping today! The scarfs were $5 a pop on sale and the boots were a HUGE deal–$60 off making their final price $30! Look hard for deals. I love clearance racks and don’t treat stores like Goodwill, thrift shops, and Plato’s Closet poorly. My best clothes are hand-me-downs–I’m not gonna lie! 😀
Thanks for the ideas! I’ll have to do ’em with friends or maybe even my youth group! 😀
OH…I LOVE making gingerbread houses with my family! It’s so much fun to decorate a house (buy supplies in bulk!) and eat some of the materials as you make your house! 🙂 I did it once w/ my youth group with grahm crakers and the BOY’s team ended up making a beautiful house while the GIRL’s team made a sloppy goey mess! XD
(It is hard to put it together…it’s definately best to have an adult’s help for a kit.)
Learn to knit and make yourself a cute scarf, or make a present for someone you love! I know, *shameless plug for knitting* but it’s slightly obessive once you learn 🙂
I never made a gingerbread house before, but i want to! maybe i will make one with my friends this year. 🙂
Those cookies look yummy! Last year my friends and I started the tradition of having a Christmas dinner the week before Christmas, exchanging gifts, and going caroling! It’s a blast, and the neighbors love having people come to sing! We had one couple keep asking for songs! 🙂
Every Christmas Eve,we always bake Chocolate Chip Cookies. Most people eat Sugar Cookies, but I HATE them! We also have a little blue christmas tree that we put on the table in the living room every christmas.
love these(:
Can people under the age of 14 volunteer? (I’m 13)
You should be able to with your church or family. 🙂
some places, depending on where you want to volunteer. you just have to ask around. my sister and brother are 11 and 13 and they come with me sometimes when i volunteer.
Wow… I can’t remember the last time I made a gingerbread house…. thanks!
