Like all beauty products, you have tons of choices when it comes to which body wash to try. And while it might be easiest to just go with whatever’s on sale or what smells the best, it’s important to remember to check the labels and see what’s actually in your body wash. The big thing to look out for? Sulfate (the thing that makes body wash super foamy)! As you get older, your skin will thank you for your introspection and research early on…we promise!
To help you get started in your search for your best body wash, we’ve rounded up five of our top picks! We can’t wait to see what you think and hear all about your favorites in the comments below.

We cannot say enough good things about the UK brand Lush. Their products are handmade using all natural ingredients and each product features an expiration date and a cute sticker showing the person who made it! The brand is affordable, almost entirely vegan and smells fantastic. One of our favorites is “The Olive Branch,” a skin softening organic olive oil blend. Loaded with vital antioxidants and an infusion of vine leaves, sea salt and fresh mandarin juice, you’ll be showering with the citrus scents of mandarin and lemon with a just hint of fresh orange groves. ($10 – $29, LushUSA.com)

Another totally natural choice, Beecology lemongrass and grapefruit shower gel (available in two other scents if those don’t float your boat) brings a natural citrus splash to the bath. Essential oils of lemongrass and grapefruit mingle with nature’s best elements to create a sulfate-free body wash that
TotalBeauty.com picked as their No.1 choice for body washes. The coconut, olive and hemp oils lead to a gentle and moisturizing cleansing clean while the aloe and honey pamper your skin and prepare you for your day. (
Beecology.com, $9)
Your mom may have already shown you the “Kiehl’s” way. We love this body polish made with ground luffa fruit – the fruit that, when dried, produces the loofah sponge! Pretty cool, eh? Mix that with shea butter and almond oil, and you’ve got some seriously moisturizing cream! (
Kiehls.com, $11)
A favorite among the editors at
Real Simple, the Body Shop does a decent job of using “real” ingredients in their products (far better than most popular companies)! Their coconut shower cream is their most popular, heralded for its scent and super lather properties. It smells divine! (
TheBodyShopUSA.com, $8). It does contain sulfate, so if you’re looking for something different, might we suggest this

Thanks for including a unscented version! It’s irritiating not being able to use scented things when just about everything has some sort of smell to it.
My skins really sensitive even to natural stuff but all Jason products are good for me,I was happy to see that most of these are natural since I wasn’t expecting that 🙂
