Top 5 Favorite Natural Deodorants

Last August, we showed you gals how to make your own deodorant at home. Did anyone try it? While we know that making anything–especially your own beauty products–can have a learning curve, it’s always fun to experiment. This is a great way to personalize your products to best match what YOU need. But if you’re short on time or would rather purchase some awesome handmade deodorants for inspiration before you try making your own, check out our five favorite picks below.

Why is it important to seek out handmade or organic and natural products? Deodorant is one of the beauty/personal care products that frequently contains toxic ingredients, so it’s important to make a careful decision about which brand you use! Educate yourself and be safe when buying anything that goes on your skin.

And now, drum roll, please…here are our top five handmade deodorants!

This Canadian line of deodorants offers a ton of awesome scents, and we’re totally in love with Lavender and Lemon. Made using a mixture of kaolin clay, tapioca starch, baking soda and cocoa butter, this non-sticky deodorant will keep you dry without drying out your underarms! Not into lavender? Could we interest you in Bergamot Birch Sweet? Blood Orange and Basil? Cinnamon Lemongrass? The list goes on… (Zoe’s Corner, $9.50)

Each batch of Posh Pits deodorant is made in small doses, so you know it was done right and will arrive to you fresh. Our favorite scent contains wild orange and lavender essential oils as well as tea tree oil to control odor and leave you smelling sweet. This is one of the best-smelling deodorants we’ve found yet! (Posh Pits, $7.25)

This rich deodorant, handmade in Canada, contains shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut oil and almond oil. These are the kinds of ingredients that will soothe your skin to the max! It also contains baking soda, cornstarch, tea tree oil and grapefruit oil to help eliminate odor. Finally, candelilla wax adds a smooth glide to the product so it applies easily and comfortably. Our favorite scent? Grapefruit! (Me, You, Body, $7.50)

The name alone…how could you not love it?! One of the more popular handmade and vegan bath and beauty companies on Etsy, BunnyButt is created in sunny California. The veggie protein deodorants are made all natural and fresh, and you can choose from 17 different scents…score! (BunnyButt, $10)

We love LUSH, the UK brand that creates stores full of fresh, all natural beauty products. They have a few deodorants available, but our top pick is their solid deodorant bar called T’eo. The triple citrus bar is packed with perspiration absorbing powders and smell-neutralizing essential oils that’ll keep you fresh all day. (LUSH, $9)
