Here are five of our top lip balm picks! We can’t wait to see what you think and hear all about your favorites in the comments below.
C.O. Bigelow Rose Salve has a huge fanbase–and for good reason! It’s not sticky, greasy or heavy, it feels very moisturizing and it smells amazing. The rose tint is pretty and you won’t have to reapply too often. What more can you ask for? (BigelowChemists.com, $5.50). We also love the similarly packaged Smith’s Minted Rose Balm, which also comes in their original scentless tin. Another classic favorite! (Sephora.com, $7)
Got cracked or burnt lips? Super sensitive all around? The instant relief this lip balm brings to painful, chapped lips is pretty spectacular. It’s much stronger than regular Chapstick, especially if you slather it on before bed. The tingling, menthol sensation is nice, and you can feel your dry lips immediately healing. (Blistex at Walgreens.com, $2). Can’t find it but need something to fix up your hurting lips? We also love Aquaphor Lip Repair & Protect, available at most drugstores.
Lavender and lemon…score! This Beecology balm is both relaxing and invigorating, and mends chapped lips quickly, lasting throughout the day. Beloved by both women and men, the balm slides on smooth and never feels heavy or overly scented. We like it even more than Burt’s Bees (though they do have some rad tinted lip balms). It’s also from a great organic company that’s not putting anything questionable into their products. Hooray! (Beecology.com, $3)
Lip calm…sounds nice, right? This super oil lip balm sticks to your lips all day, heals chaps and flakes, and is unscented for those who prefer a no taste/no smell lip balm. Bonus points? It works well on cuticles, too! (Dermstore.com, $6). Another natural option without crazy scents? Yes To Carrots Sweet Fig Lip Butter is an all-natural, paraben-free SPF balm that softens and nourishes well. It’s got vitamin E, jojoba oil and shea butter to create an anti-oxidant rich formula that is all about soft, non-greasy moisture for your lips. Check it out here!
Kiehl’s lip balm is scentless, inexpensive compared to the line’s otherwise more pricey (and amazing) beauty products and is made right here in the U.S. While it’s particularly effective for winter, it’s also great for protecting your lips in the summer as well! There’s a reason it’s the company’s number one seller and appears on so many beauty websites’ lists for best balms. (Kiehls.com, $7)
