Top 5 Natural Body Scrubs!
Written by Project Inspired | April 15, 2014
Last week we shared with you girls how to make your own natural body scrubs. With these two methods and scents—lemon or rosemary-lavender—you can see how easy it is to DIY your own! If you’re looking for more inspiration (or just hoping to buy now, maybe DIY later), we’ve rounded up five of our favorite handmade body scrubs available for purchase online. They all come from Etsy, a site known for its thousands upon thousands of awesome handmade goods—and that includes beauty products!
Remember, while you likely have a body wash you already love, scrubs are a great way to exfoliate your skin while boosting circulation. A lot of people skip this important step in the shower, but it’s a super-great way to get going in the morning!
A personal favorite, this body scrub is made fresh in California. With a perfect mix of organic sugar, coconut oil and essential oils, you can expect a luxurious buff and polish in the shower. The sugar works to gently remove dead skin cells without the sting of salt (one of the reasons we prefer it!), while the oils leave your skin feeling hydrated, not oily. (The Peacock Apothecary, $20)
“Inspired by the beautiful blooming lilac trees of my youth in Indiana, my proprietary Lilac Mist fragrance is a soft, soothing scent with notes of mimosa, peach and lilac,” writes the seller. Sold yet? The overall effect of this body scrub is clean and fresh, with a hint of lilac. Who doesn’t want to smell like clean laundry? (Tucker Hill Tx, $6)
How cute are these labels? Better yet is the scent: lemongrass and lavender. Yum! As the shop says, “Add a favorite soothing scent with the invigorating aura of lemongrass and you get smooth skin with a touch of energy for the day!” (Old Line Apothecary, $8)
One of the top sellers on Etsy for body scrubs, this shop sells tons of different scents in both sugar and sea salt. We’re loving this watermelon-scented sugar scrub, which is “blended by hand using preservative-free ingredients and a fine-grain sugar that gently exfoliates the skin. The scrub also includes almond oil, a natural emollient rich in vitamin E that nourishes and revives without clogging pores.” (Naki Nagi Body Scrubs, $15)
This coconut body scrub will have you feeling like you’ve spent a day at the beach! “Our decadent sugar scrubs are not just sugar and oils,” the seller writes. “They contain emulsifiers which turn into lotion when mixed with water. This means that your skin will be gently exfoliated and moisturized without that greasy feel. Our scrubs are loaded with luxury oils and butters for a true spa treatment for your skin!” (Comfort and Joy Soap Co., $12)
