Top 5 Natural Face Washes for Teens

We’ve got face wash on the brain! While many people think that summer is the real pain when it comes to their skin (and it can be!), keeping your face fresh and clean during the fall and winter is equally important. The harsh weather conditions in the colder months affect your face just as much as the sun and sweat do. And it’s especially critical this time of year to keep your skin hydrated.

Earlier this year, we covered our top five favorite face washes for teens. Then last week, we shared our favorite DIY recipe for making your own wash. If you’re a little nervous about whipping up your own potion or want some inspiration on where to start, this roundup of our top five favorite handmade face washes will get you thinking about your own creation!

Only natural and organic ingredients are in this refreshing wash. No chemicals, parabens, dyes, unnatural preservatives or foaming agents. This cleanser is made with a variety of essential oils, like tea tree, geranium and organic lemon, to help irritated skin and troubled complexions. We love that it’s very creamy and removes makeup while being superbly cleansing, but not drying. (Green Bubble Gorgeous, $12)

Take It Off! face wash uses an oil cleansing method that gets the job done without chemicals or harsh cleansers. Castor oil and a little mild castile soap clean out your pores, then extra virgin olive oil adds moisture back in. Even better: this wash can be made to order depending on your skin type. (Sweet Things Homemade, $6)

Fresh, light and airy, this foaming face cleanser soothes and helps heal skin, plus removes makeup. It’s naturally scented with sweet orange essential oil and carrot seed oil, and is safe and gentle. Made with certified organic ingredients; no synthetic fragrance oils or toxins. Best for oily skin, but okay for sensitive skin and normal/combo skin, too. (Skin 2 Spirit, $14.95)

GingerChi Face Purifying Oil Cleanser deep-cleans the skin, leaving your face soft and fresh without damage or dryness. This plant-based wash has molecules that bond with the oil molecules in your pores, helping you get rid of excess oil, dirt and debris. It gently removes makeup, too. Made with all natural ingredients, it’s safe for daily use. (GingerChi, $28)

Organic Rose & Honey Face Wash and Scrub is made with really cool ingredients like pink rose petals, oats, wildflower honey and organic argan. This cleanser gently exfoliates and removes impurities from the skin, and leaves no heavy oily residue behind. Helps skin stay hydrated and clear without preservatives, detergents or harsh soaps. Use daily or weekly. (Eco Assist, $12.50)
