UK Boy Band One Direction Hits the Pop Charts

Girls, do you like the new band One Direction? Simon Cowell from The X Factor helped create the group in 2010 after a suggestion from the show’s judge and singer Nicole Scherzinger. The band members individually auditioned and performed on The X Factor, but later were put together to form a band in the “Groups” category.

I love One Direction’s song “One Thing”–it’s clean, fun and very catchy! The group performs music written by some of the top musicians in the world; for example, their songs “Tell me a Lie” and “Gotta Be You” were written by American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson.

The band comprises five members: Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson. The group recently won the race against Adele and other artists for the 2012 Brit Award for “Best British Single.”

Their album “Up All Night” is already grabbing the attention of Hollywood and tons of young fans around the globe. They are joining Big Time Rush in the Better With U Tour, which kicked off on February 24.

Check out the music video “What Makes you Beautiful,” which already has more than 95 million hits on YouTube:

“What Makes you Beautiful” is No. 1 in the UK and is rising on U.S. charts. The album “Up All Night” was released in the fall of 2011 in the UK and in March 2012 in the U.S. The band is quickly gaining popularity and just performed on NBC’s Saturday Night Live.

    1. I like them a lot. But, as a Directioner, I have to be careful not to let them take over my life. I love their songs and them. Personally, I think quite a bit f the fans are out of control and crazy, that’s the worst part of being a fan. DIRECTIONERS: They don’t know you exist. Stop saying you will marry them and they are yours.
