Weekly Poll: Are You a Spender or a Saver?

Even if you aren’t currently employed, you may earn an allowance or get money for holidays and special events. This is (of course!) fun, and it may be one of your first real brushes with independence. You’ve earned something, and now you get to decide what to do with it!

Maybe you spend a little and save a little, or maybe you clutch on to every penny, conscious to not waste a dime. If you’re a saver, are you saving for anything particular? What kinds of things are worth blowing your loot on? That’s the question of the week, girls–how do you handle your money, and why?

Answer the polls below and then let us know more in the comments!

    1. I do save most of my money. I don’t have anything specific that I’m saving for. I guess I’m just saving for the future, and because I don’t need to buy anything right now. For awhile I spent money on jewelry and accessories, but I have enough of those now.

    2. I used to be a spender, every time I got money, I would beg my mom to take me shopping so I could spend it. But now I am pretty good about saving. I babysit, and I do other little things to earn money. Every time I get money I give God 10%, then I save 20%. I’m saving for college, but honestly I can’t predict my future. I may get married and I will use it for my wedding. Or whatever God’s will is. I also save extra loose change I have, I am going to use that to buy my future husband’s wedding ring. Now what I usually buy with my spending money is mostly clothes. I can’t help it, I love cute clothes. But I also buy books, and music, and well you know…..stuff that can be addicting.

    3. I save basically all my money. I’m not saving for anything in particular, just whatever comes up (missions trip, college, family need)
I go shopping hardly at all (at most once a month) so I don’t really have the opportunity to spend much. If I shopped more I’d probably buy clothes.

    4. I am definitely a saver. Right now I’m saving up for college and a laptop. I pretty much only spend when there’s stuff that I need, or the occasional outing with a friend and a snack. I set aside money each pay check (I babysit every Tuesday) that I can spend, but it almost always carries over, so even that is building up. I may deplete it buying a guitar, but maybe not. Most of my money goes to Saving and Giving.

    5. I honestly am a saver, and am saving up for College. So i am all like… worried… when I spend even $10 on something! Haha I know it sounds ridiculous but I still occasionally pay for little things of my own or gifts (which really puts a hole in my pocket around Christmas). So yeah, I’m probably mainly saving up for College, a place of my own, and all that jazz. 🙂

    6. I am starting Dual Enrollment at my community college and lately, my computer has had about just as much as it can handle. I’ve been saving up for a laptop for quite some time now and I’m hoping that for my sweet sixteen that I’ll have more than enough money just so I can also start saving up for my future(:
