What Are You Doing for Halloween?

Halloween, like all holidays, brings a host of different traditions to the table when it comes to who celebrates and how. When we’re younger, many of us trick-or-treat in our neighborhood. As we age out of that, we might dress up for school parties and events or hang out with friends. Maybe your town has a parade that you like to watch or participate in. Maybe you and your family watch fun Halloween-centric movies together and carve pumpkins. Or maybe you’re just not into it and don’t do anything at all. Whatever it is that you’re doing to celebrate tomorrow, we can’t wait to hear about your plans!

We here at Project Inspired want to guide and inspire teen girls to be true to themselves and to God. We want to show young girls how to be people of value and confidence – how to be your own best selves – through leading a Christian life. Who are we? We're a team of girls, like you. We edit the site, we post to social media, we hang out in the chat rooms and forums. We talk with you, we listen to you, and we love you!

    1. I might be dressing up as either Taylor Swift or a gypsy… Haha. I’m going to a dodgeball game tonight (where we will be in costume of course!) and hopefully hanging out a friends’ house tomorrow night!

    2. I’ll be wearing my grandma’s vintage black/orange skirt. Got a petticoat and errything. 😀
Just need to sew another button onto it. My grandma’s waist was freakin’ tiny.

We’re going to be watching Arsenic and Old Lace, and playing Arkham Horror. :3
Not handing out candy as far as I know. Candy’s expensive. Kids can get that junk elsewhere. xD

    3. I’m wearing a 50’s dress for half of the day, then another one for the other half…I’m super super in love with both of them…but usually I’m not a costume person, but really I’d be the happiest person alive if I could wear these regularly…. 🙂 😀

    4. Halloween is the one time a year people voluntary and excitedly come rushing towards our doors. As Christians we should view this as a TREMENDOUS opportunity! By handing out candies with Bible verses or asking trick or treaters if there’s anything you can pray about for them we would be bringing supreme glory to a holiday which many consider to have satanic roots. Use Halloween to your advantage to share the word of God and bring glory to His name!

    5. I didn’t get to do halloween because I’m out of town, but I had so much fun at my church’s fall festival last week =D I got to dress up as a Lord of the Rings elf (not christmas elf. big difference.) and pass out candy at our Hobbit themed trunk for trunk or treat. I think I scared some kids because of the pointy ears- but I tried talking to them so they wouldn’t be scared and cracked a few jokes….of which the parents only got but none the less it was fun =D ….and I want to wear my elf ears more often. <3

    6. Yesterday I got to go see the musical Wicked when it came to The Des Moines Civic Center. 😀 So much fun hanging out with my awesome band, choir, and drama geek friends! And an amazing meal at Spaghetti Works! So blessed!

    7. I love Halloween because I get to dress up and not get ridiculed. I worked at my church’s Halloween party and then went to a haunted house (which terrified the wits out of me). Oh, and then the night after me and my parents watched an episode of Supernatural. Can’t say I’ll be doing THAT before bed again.

    8. So, my family doesn’t celebrate Halloween in particular, but we have a few exceptions:
      1. We were allowed to dress up for the school party in Elementary School.
      2. We can dress up for a Church event.
      3. If we ever do dress up, it can’t be anything scary – must be innocent.
For this year, I dressed up as a cat, because we were allowed to dress up as something from Creation for our Church event (:

    9. It’s Friday so school. I’m dressing as Lumpy Space Princess or Feferi Peixes. I’m performing in my children’s theatre troupe at an elementary school a really cute 10 minute play. Then maybe the movies since it’s at the mall where they pass out candy (The Book of Life!!)

      • If there is anything else to do on Halloween, rather than the normal dress up and get candy, that’s it! I personally watched Mythbusters while my neighborhood was raided by my little sister!
