What Sadie Robertson’s DWTS Appearance Teaches Us

You may or may not know that Sadie Robertson (Duck Dynasty darling and author of Live Originalis currently a finalist on this season of Dancing With the Stars. She has won hearts across the country and is glorifying Christ through it all. Just watch this clip of Sadie performing in the semifinals!

Take a gander at what one of the judges, Julianne Hough, said of Sadie on a recent episode:

“What I actually loved was the guitar, that was innovative and I thought that it created a barrier so that it wasn’t super passionate and romantic. And that’s what I love about you, is that you stay true to who you are. That is what’s authentic, and that’s what people love.”

Through her stardom, despite being surrounded by temptations at every corner, Sadie continues to glorify God in her very public life. This says so much–she is using her platform to show what serving Christ is all about. We can safely say that most of us will never be on quite the platform Sadie has found herself on, but in our own social circles, we can represent Christ in the ways Sadie is doing it.

What does this look like? Well, as Sadie is on a show all about dancing, she puts her own unique spin on things that help her stay TRUE. Apply this to any area of your life and stay true to your convictions. Stay focused on loving others and glorifying Christ in ALL that you do.

Take a look at how Sadie is doing it; she isn’t coming across as preachy. She comes across in a way that others look at her and think, “Wow, I want to live like her.” Live like this, girls. Live a life where others want to become followers of Christ simply because of how you represent yourself in public situations.

Rest on this from Proverbs 16:3: “Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.”

Think about this in your own life. How can you commit your work to the Lord as, say, a cashier at Forever 21? Or how can you commit to the Lord while being a lifeguard? This is our challenge to you this week; find out what that looks like and share with us below!

With that said, we have one final message for you… #TeamQuackAttack.

I’ve been following Sadie and Mark since week one. They are fantastic! I love how Sadie continues to be modest in her costumes and dance moves even when everyone around her is not. It must be really tough especially when I’m sure she’s bombarded with comments that she might do better if she let’s go.
