One of our dear Project Inspired Girls, Bethany, who has been with the site since we launched in 2011, wants to attend a school that I went to: Vanguard University of Southern California (VUSC). This story is very inspiring! I majored in journalism and communication studies, and Bethany wants to follow in my footsteps, inspired by the PI website and Nicole Weider, and desires to go to this private Christian school to pursue journalism and politics while strengthening her faith.

It’s pretty interesting, and God is so amazing because at the time I attended VUSC, Nicole—the PI founder and my best friend—wasn’t a Christian at the time. I was pursuing journalism and writing for the school newspaper, and was heavily involved in songwriting and worship leading. By the time I was just about to graduate, Nicole accepted Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior. She then started ProjectInspired.com in 2011, and by the time I had my degree, I was able to write for her. God is BEYOND amazing and truly does Ephesians 3:20 (above what we can think, ask for or even imagine). Writing for Nicole’s website and seeing it grow from just a couple hundred visitors to now more than 600,000 is just incredible.
Here’s a photo of PI founder Nicole Weider with PI Girl and fan Bethany:
God heard my prayer and really answered my requests above my expectations. I am forever grateful that not only did God save me, but He also saved my best friend Nicole and then allowed us to partner in what I call “Holy-Wood.”
Here is a photo of me with Nicole’s first book, Into the Light: My Journey from the Glare of Hollywood to the Glow of God’s Love, on her testimony from when God took Nicole out of darkness in modeling and acting, and into the world of God’s Kingdom.
Back in the day, the enemy tried to have Nicole and me use our gifts for the world in Hollywood. We were swept up by the lure of clubbing and parties with the celebs, but thankfully God delivered us out of this trap and showed us the light. I told Nicole after I went from secular music to Christian worship music and writing songs about the Lord (being born again in my faith) that God called her to be His model. Instead of chasing after the worldly ways, we now seek God’s work and Kingdom. I’m so blessed and grateful God took us away from Hollywood and now we can influence the culture together! So cool!
Not only am I thankful we can help others like Bethany and write letters back and forth to them, but also that I can help mentor them and help these girls then reach others. God’s ways truly are higher than our ways (Isaiah 55). Keep dreaming, praying and seeking Jesus. He is truly faithful.
