Why God Needs You to Be a Leader!

It’s hard being a Christian in a world that’s constantly bombarding you with information about impure activities. Television programs glamorize sex. Music lyrics encourage violence. Magazines endorse nudity. So, how do you have the courage to stand for God when many of your friends are falling into temptation?

Philippians 3:18-20 tells us that “many live as enemies of the cross of Christ…Their mind is on earthly things. But our citizenship is in heaven.”

As believers, we should understand that we’re ambassadors sent from Heaven to teach others about salvation and the goodness of God. So what does that mean in a practical sense?

It means that God wants to use YOU to motivate other girls.

God wants you to stand out from the crowd! When someone is being mean to a classmate, there’s nothing wrong with stepping in and saying that bullying isn’t cool. If a classmate wants to cheat on the next pop quiz, you can say no. When a friend tries to get you to drink alcohol or do drugs, just walk away. And remember, you can still be popular without having sex before you’re married!

You don’t have to do things or allow things to occur just to fit in!

Instead, you set the bar. You decide, based on God’s Word, what’s cool and what’s not. When you stand for what’s right, others will often fall in line. Many times your friends also know that something’s wrong but are afraid to speak up. It usually takes just one person to speak up and the others will follow.

Remember, being a leader for Christ doesn’t mean just quoting scripture. It’s always okay to quote the Word of God, but God also wants you to set an example. Teaching others with your actions is just as important as teaching them with your words!

God is always looking for leaders, but it’s up to you to accept the mission. Will you be a leader for God?

Do you think you set a good example for your peers?

    1. i found this page yesterday or the day before. It was an app on facebook or something 😀 I’m so glad i found it tho! Its gets you thinking, wow or just it places in your life perfect, i was going to read this article the day yesterday day but didnt i’m glad i read it today cause it fits purfect in my life and it gets me thinking. God isnt the god of quisedence. He’s the God of time. which is so awsoome i have to share tis article!

    2. I think that I set a better example then not. But of course, I will never say that I am better than him, or am more christianly than him. (P.S. Especially you girls, I am a girl, yet I always use the masculine term. No, I am not sexist; God created mankind, not woman/mankind. Where do you think the man in woMAN came from?)

    3. I love this article cause it teaches me how to be a leader for others and for God! My friend and parents think I’m a good example to them, but most importantly, I think I’m an awesome example to them!

    4. This makes me think of the song ‘Live Like That’ by Sidewalk Prophets. When I seen them at the Rock and Worship Road Show the lead singer said we need to stand out and be different. We need people to look at us and say, “I wanna live like that” it really touched my heart and I want them to look at me and know I am a christian and it is awesome! I want them to hunger for God! This song also reminded me of ‘The Lost Get Found’ by Britt Nicole! You should listen to both songs!#

    5. I love this. I guess I never really thought of myself as a leader. It’s really hard to stand up for the truth and not come off as a religious snob, but I’m finding there’s a balance. Thanks so much for this reminder to speak up! It’s always hard to go against the flow, but it’s worth it. Some days it’s harder to stand up, especially when you feel like you’re always falling down. Luv you guys!!! ♥♥♥

    6. I just went to a leadership conference at Camp Timberlee in Wisconsin. The group that spoke was called Axis, and the challenged us to find what our world revolved around. They were an amazing group, and I hope that you guys would someday get to hear them!!

      • When asking a question like that, to say yes or no would being putting that person in a weird possition. Just think when your listening to music, ‘how would God feel if He knew thats what i was listening to?’ (btw He knows) its easier to do the right thing if we ask ourselfs that question if you really want to change or love Him your way, those kinds of questions make changeing more understanible.

    7. I think I am a good role model in what I listen to, watch, wear, and the ways I act. But I also think that there is always room for improvement!

My goal is to get my hind’s feet and join the Shepherd on the High Places, so I may come bounding back down again to inspire others. Thanks for using this website to inspire me.

    8. Hey Nicole, I am not a teenager I am 41. I think what you are doing is great. The kids these days have so much more evil that they have to deal with. They need a role model like you because there aren’t many out there. God bless you.

    9. i seen an article on facebook and i came to check it out and i really like this. all girls should have one…its inspiring and a good help in life(: thanks for making this page its amazing(:

    10. This page is really good because I have friends who don’t care for Christ and Swear and talk about non Christian things, Iv’e always just gone along with it but now i’m going to say something and step up or just walk away! Thanks for this inspiring article! 🙂
