UPDATE – Why I Can’t Answer Your Personal Emails Anymore
Written by Project Inspired | September 28, 2011
Hi Girls ~
This is a letter that is really difficult to write, but I need to be straight with you.
When this site was small (several hundred visitors per day), I got just a few emails from you, and I was able to answer every single one with thoughtfulness and care. I spent hours on my emails with you because connecting with you is one of the most special parts of Project Inspired for me.
But today? Today the site is HUGE. In just a few short months we are getting thousands and thousands of visitors every day, and I’m getting so many emails that I just can’t keep up. Every time I look at my inbox my heart breaks a little bit, because I know there are girls who are looking for answers and they are having to wait for days to get them.
I feel an enormous responsibility to respond when you write to me, so I have been trying to answer (and not just a two sentence email!) every single letter you write. Sometimes I’m up until 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning replying to your emails!
So, I’m clearing out my inbox over the next couple of days, and I will not accept any more emails to my personal address. If you’ve already emailed me, I will answer you! And of course, you can always email us here. My editorial team reads every email that comes in and sends me editorial ideas and articles that you submit.
I love you girls and I am so joyous at how you’ve connected with me and with Project Inspired. I do want to continue emailing with you, so I’m working on a solution.
Please hold tight. I will find a way!
[contact_box]UPDATE: I have been working hard with my team to come up with solutions for how I can answer your emails, and we have a couple of ideas:
(1) I am going to introduce membership to the site so that we have “a more managed approach to access” (that’s straight from my web team!).
(2) We’re going to partner with a counseling group so that I can steer you to just the right kind of adviser depending on what kind of help you need.
In the meantime, even though I can’t promise to respond to every email, please keep emailing me here with your thoughts and questions.[/contact_box]
