Why Should I Surrender to God and Trust Him?

Every week, I choose a different topic from the chat wall on the Project Inspired private Facebook group, where you can read, comment and/or ask questions or make prayer requests. Join our Facebook Girl Talk Group here.
Giving up control is hard to do because it requires trust. Just like a “trust fall”—a game where you fall back into the arms of a friend and make sure that they catch you—so it is with God. God wants you to let go and rely solely on Him. He is our provider, friend, constant, strong tower, fortress, shelter, our husband in the spirit. He is everything.
God created the universe so we can trust in Him. He is so FOR you and wants the best for you! (Read Jeremiah 29:11 in the Bible.) God has GOOD in store for you, and although at times (a lot of times!) we are tested, He is always trustworthy. God is always on time and works things for our benefit, even if it is a life lesson.
God is our Father and is one who wants to teach us to let Him be in the driver’s seat in our lives. Through His spirit, the Word and encounters with Christ, we can get pieces of the puzzle, but He will always show us what it is that we need to do to take the next step. God is like the navigation system in our cars or on our phones. The Holy Spirit tells us where to go next, step by step and turn by turn.
If you have a relationship with God through Jesus Christ, you have the spirit of God inside of you! You can ask him for directions at any time (like Siri!) and you can trust He will get you to your destination. On earth, we have many destinations, but our final destination is eternity in heaven with the Lord. Believe God is with you, that He loves you (He sent Jesus Christ to spare you of sin and death and eternal separation from Him).
God is a way maker (through Yeshua Jesus Christ) and is the one who performs miracles and can be counted on. Even when family or friends betray us, we can surrender to God and rest in His presence and in our lives knowing He made us in the first place, and like a good Dad, He wants what’s in our best interest. Do you rely on God fully? Do you only run to God when you need Him or do you speak with him daily and thank him for your blessings?
Do you TRUST that He will order your steps and will give you beyond what you can ask when you read His word and obey Him? He is loyal and is Emmanuel. (Emmanuel means “God with us.”) He is the messiah, the savior, the one true King, the King of Kings of glory. He is ever present, everlasting.
I encourage you, PI Girls, to surrender to God. I know his track record and it is just too good to be doubted or denied. Know His path for you is straight and may be narrow at times, but in the end it leads to life, blessings and joy. You can’t find peace in things or people, but solely God. Always look up and know the one who calls you is faithful. He is generous and desires for you to be blessed and to be overflowing with His love.
PI Girls, how can we pray for you? Comment below! Jesus loves you!
